I have a question about a ceiling light-fan capacitor please.
I have been advised to replace a two-wire cbb61 capacitor in an attempt to fix the lighting section of a ceiling light-fan, as the light both flickers and dims when turned on. The numbers on this black rectangle indicate it is 4.5uf and 300v.ac. The closest I can come in an online search is either 250 v.ac or 350 v.ac; a local electrical shop said they had one at 375v.ac but that would cause the light to burn out. Can I use the 250 v.ac 4.5uf capacitor without worry? Thanks, [email protected] in Chesapeake VA

    Mike,

Hi, neighbor. Who is the manufacturer of this fan and light package?

Just curious, but have you tried Radio Shack for the cap or have you looked online for a replacement?
