What year and model? Many auto computers and navigation systems change their display when the car is in drive so as to not distract the driver. Your owners manual should tell you what to do when/if this light goes on. I usually take it to a dealer for his computers read on the issue.
Same problem as your previous post?

99 honda civic Ex, canadian version. Live in Nicaragua and the problem is the Honda dealer in Nicaragua won´t take my car because they only take care of cars built over year 2005, can you believe that? Mine is 99, Changed the idle control valve, still get the light on.
Is the light going off once you drive it? I don't really understand.
Another way you could look at this... does the car run OK with the light on? I know lots of people that drive around with the light on if the car runs OK. Not saying that's the right way to handle it but...
Same problem odinn7. When running the car the light is off, run excellent, like nothing is wrong, the prblem start when I stop, few seconds later, the light goes on.. forget about the dealer in Nicaragua, don´t take care of 99 honda´s

Just to be sure about something... are you sure this is the Check Engine Light? It's not the oil light, is it? Years ago I had a car with low oil pressure at idle and once you got running, the pressure would build up and the light would go off.
Yes.. is yellow and has the words.. check.. just went to the car.. thanks
THANKS EVERYBODY FOR YOUR HELP AND TAKING YOUR TIME... Just in case it happen to anyone there. Finally find a smart mechanic.. what a headache! The problem was with the throttle, was not opening like it was suppose, or too much air or not enough and he adjust a pin where the throttle is, took it off and a adjust a little bolt in the idle control valve.
