Looking for a black and white movie set during WW2 about a boy travelling and hiding through Europe alone looking for family. Befriended by a lady and taken across the border into Switzerland where he accidentally finds a book written by his mother. That's all I remember about it. I'd love to see it again.

Thanks for the reply! The character in I am David had documents he needed to deliver. Is that right? This kid had nothing to deliver. It was more about his travels and experiences.
