We moved to Florida in Sept. 06. We expected stay for a while, but I have developed allergy-driven asthma that is so bad, that I cannot take care of my family. The Drs. Tell me it is climate-related and that I really should move. I have a note from a Dr. supporting my condition.

The policy on breaking a lease was not included in the lease agreement. I just received the information and I am responsible for payment of the lease until July of 07, unless the property management company can find someone else to lease the property.

Myquestion - because I am moving due to a medical reason and have verification from my Dr. is there anyway to get out of paying the balance of the rent?

Not really. Kids get excused from stuff with a note from the doctor. Adults don't.

Just my opinion, but no this would not be an accepted reason for breaching a contract.

Unless you can prove something specific about that apartment/house.
If they have mold, or some item that is the specific reason, that another rental may not have, it may, be possible if they can not make some accomidation for you.

You are responsible for the rent until the property is re-rented or the lease ends. Why not put an ad in the paper and find another tenant equal to you in credit standing? I am not saying to "sublet". If you can find someone your landlord would approve of, maybe he will let you out of the lease rather than bring suit against you and trying to track you down for payment. It's a thought.
