I am trying to install pendant lights in recessed cans using the instant conversion system. However, 1) when I screw in the new pendant light and shade, the canister slides out of its recess. I live in earthquake country, so I want a secure solution. Also, 2) I am installing 8 of these lights in the kitchen, so they need to hang at the same length. Winding the cord around the arm on the inside results in stretching to different lengths after the whole thing is hung. What to do? BTW, I am just a girl, so please make your responses simple. Thanks for any help you can give.
