Our new condo came with a Grohtemp shower unit. Is it possible to adjust the thermostat so the water will get hotter then it currently allows?

I am not familiar with that brand but all water heaters have thermostats that control the temp. Most stats are hinden behind a plate screwed to the front of the heater. One or two screws all you will see an adjustable dial. Raise it just a small amount so you don't accidentally burn yourself. After a day or so, if you are now satisfied, replace the cover.
Please let me know if I helped you.
It is adjustable, simply remove the handle and pull the black piece of plastic behind the handle out and reinsert it a few degrees to the right of where it was and then reinstall the handle.Quote:

Sorry but I misunderstood your initial question. I thought you were trying to change the temp of your water heater. The handle should have a decorative insert in the center. This is usually plastic and has some design. Slip a pocket knife tip under the seam and pry carefully. Once it comes out you should see a screw. Remove the screw and pull toward you while tilting the knob slightly back and forth.
Just to add to growler's comments. If you happen to have a single handle lever style, more than likely you will have a set screw on the bottom side of the handle when it's turned off. You'll need to loosen the set screw with an allen wrench in that case.
