Hunter fan and remote, remote will not turn off fan
I have been trying to get this wiring right for days now. Please help. I have two wall switches wired to the ceiling fan. A hunter fan with light kit, no pull strings on fan, and the hunter remote with receiver.
From the ceiling I have black, red, white, and ground.
From the fan are the following: pink, yellow, grey, black w/white stripe, green, white, red, and black.
From the remote receiver, which is shaped like a circle: pink, yellow, grey, black w/white stripe, black, white, and antenna wire.
Ok so here what's going on. The grey, pink, yellow, and black w/ white stripe are connected together. Now that leaves the following wires not connected to anything yet: a black, red, green and white wire coming from fan; one black and one white wire on the receiver; and the four house wires.
This is how I connected them. The three blacks all together, the three white commons together, the green from fan to the ceiling ground (green), the red from fan to the ceiling red.
These are my results: with both wall switches on, I can control the light with remote, turns on and off, the fan however will change speeds but once I turn it on with remote it will not go off except if I turn off the wall switch, and after I start it that first time with the remote, when I turn the switch on, the fan turns on.
