    Heavy drinking while away
    Drbill

I am on vacation and I am wondering if I drink not heavily... about 2 to 3 beers a day for a about a week, how long it will take for all traces of EtG to be out of my system before my EtG test.

When would be your last beers, and when is the test?

It has occurred to me, this person must have a court order, that they are not supossed to drink ?

If that is the case, they are wanting to break the law and drink when a condition of probation or CPS has them not drinking.

If you have to take this test, you should not drink at all. It's not worth it.

You would not be asked to take the test unless you have a history of alcohol abuse, in which case your suggestion of two or three beers is probably not realistic or honest, either.

I suggest you take a sober vacation. Many are available these days - great trips where alcohol and drugs are neither offered nor available.

EtG is not cumulative as it is being removed throughout the week as you were drinking. The answer would depend on what cutoff level the lab is using and if your liver is working properly. For the level of drinking that you are mentioning in your question, I would allow around 48 to 60 hours depending on if the cutoff is 500 or 100.

dontknownothin... you do not know my situation. I do not know yours. I have not been married to an abusive alcoholic for 21 years so I do not know your life. That being said, answer my question without bringing your own personal experiences into it. Or don't answer. Because it was unnecessary.

Sorry if I offended you - it just seems to me if someone's scheduled to take an alcohol test and is asking how much and when they can drink, it suggests a problem. I don't have any idea where you got the idea I've been married to an abusive alcoholic for 21 years - not the case. I'm not married, was never with an alcoholic and have no idea where the reference to 21 years comes from. My understanding of these tests is from working in a family law office where they are often required as a condition of parenting time for parents who have drinking problems, and from prior work in a practice that did DUI work in which such testing was required as a condition of probation. In none of the cases where such tests were ordered would it have been appropriate for the individual to drink in any circumstances. I know some employers test for alcohol as well, which can be across the board and with no relevance to whether the subject drinks or has been a drinker or not, but in this case, too, I would not risk a job for a drink. Just my opinion.

dontknownuthin well I don't have a drinking problem. I got pulled over for having obstructed view on my windshield and blew a .03. I was 20 at the time. And I got a dui for that. So I don't believe that's a drinking problem. So I don't need your opinion that doesn't answer my question what so ever. Thank you to everybody that did.

Again, I did apologize for offending you and will do so again. That said, please know that when you post a question on a blog, you may not like how everyone answers. Your situation is pretty unique - probably 99% of people asking such a question would be trying to drink when they aren't supposed to and to beat the system.

And I wasn't totally off - you had a DUI and want to drink though you have to take an alcohol test. I appreciate that the circumstances were silly and you should not have been charged with DUI, but failing such a test given that you did get the conviction would be pretty unfortunate. I wish you well whatever you decide to do. It's unfortunate that the law did not treat your situation properly and that you have to take the test to begin with.
