    Whirlpool washer cycle never ends
My Whirlpool front-loader (WFS1273AW) has been fine for 3 years but recently its developed a fault where the spin cycle continually resets itself without ever spinning out properly. It seems to spin up to a certain speed and then as soon as it tries to spin up a bit fatser all the lights go out and it resets itself to the start of the drain/spin cycle meaning I have a never-ending wash cycle unless I stop it and remove the (still quite wet) clothes.

Only thing that may be contributing factor was the "clean pump" indicator light came on recently but I removed the filter and cleaned the area as best I could.

    Any thoughts greatly appreciated?

It sounds like your timer is bad. The motor is not advancing the timer. You may be able to switch the motor out and fix the problem. I would switch out the whole timer because it is unusual that it would advance to a certain point and go no further. You probably can find a used timer at a used appliance shop or order a new one. It sounds like a drain issue believe it or not. I know you said you recently cleared the filter. Was there anything in it? If there was it might have burnt out the motor and the washing machine will continuously want to drain and spin. I would recommend replacing the drain pump before replacing the electronic control. If you have any other questions please contact me. I will gladly help you. Email me at [email protected]
