Im a 20 year old college student, on July 14th I had a abortion. I was instructed to steer clear from sexual intercourse along with other things for the two week heal time I also took my antibiotics. On July 28th I went back to the clinic for my post op check up. And my obgyn told me my womb looked great after the ultra sound. And I had healed nicely. About 1 week after id say August 4th me and my boyfriend had sex unprotected. Also on the 6th... About 1 and a 1/2 weeks ago I started experiencing nausea at random times of the day and now fatigue. This puts me at August 18th. I should also add my obgyn said I should expect my period about 2 weeks after that appointment which was on July 28th. If that's so I am one week late. Normally my cycle is a 28 day cycle I get it around the first of every month. Sometimes if it's a 31 day month id get it on the 28th or 27th so on so forth. Now last night I took a pregnancy test, it came out negative. Im hoping I'm not pregnant, as I have to study abroad for a year. And I won't be able to in that condition. Is the pregnancy symptoms residual hormones from my last pregnancy? Or is the negative test result because I have no hcg hormone in my system as of yet?

You can be, it is too early for the test to tell.
Abortion is not regular birth control, why are you not using at least two forms of birth control if you do not wish to be pregnant and already did this abortion.

So now you will just have to wait and see if you got pregnant again..

I was taking birth control when I was instructed to. Which was the 2nd Sunday after my abortion. Right after the abortion about a few days later all the symptoms of my last pregnancy ceased. Even while taking the birth control I was unaffected, I had no nausea no fatigue etc. However after we had sex, about a week after I started getting those symptoms that dissipated a month ago.

You must remember that certain antibiotics can render the birth control pill completely useless.

Try taking the HPT using first morning urine as it is more accurate than any other time of the day or night.

Ok, I didn't think about the antiobiotics. I took it for a week and then that Sunday I started the BC. If that contributed to the effectiveness then my obgyn is well a idiot. Or perhaps I did it wrong, whatever the case I just took another test my first morning urine still negative. But I now have nipple sensitivity. The other symptoms are there fatigue abdominal pains nausea. But still negative.

When is your period due?

After the abortion everything got thrown off wack. But it should have come on the 12th of August. It didn't. I should add I stopped taking BC soon after the symptoms surfaced.
