    20yr old violation of probation
In 1989 I was sentenced to 10yrs(8 suspended)and 5 yrs probation for burglary I did 18 mo. On the remaining 2 yrs
Forward 20 yrs and I receive a letter saying I violated probation and have to go to court soon. What are the chances that the judge will let me go or do you think he would give me more time in prison. I've turned my life around have a good job and have got married. If I were to go to jail or even put back on probation I will lose everything I've work so hard for. This occurred in Md. I now live in Tn.

    Hello depressed:

From what you say, it looks like you completed your sentence, but I can't tell exactly... If you did, and they released you, they can't now find that you violated and bring you back...

If, however, you NEVER completed your sentence, and just stopped reporting or something like that, then a warrant was issued and your sentence STOPPED tolling. If that happened, then they can charge you, and you're going to need a lawyer. You might need one anyway.

I reported to my P.O. within 24hrs like I was told and he was angry that I was given to him(my file was about 8 pages the ones on his desk were 1-2 inches thick) He asked me if I was going to be any trouble I said no sir he told me to get out of here and never set me another report date. I've been through at least 10 background checks and gotten traffic tickets even been to court and no one has ever said I have a warrant

    Hello again, depressed:

That doesn't mean there wasn't one... But, you weren't arrested.. They sent you a LETTER. So, something is funny here. Don't respond to them. You need a lawyer.
