Is it possible that I could have a STD?
It's been 2yrs since I have been sexually active. I haven't had any symptoms of any type of STDs but I still sometimes fear of having one because of my ex performing oral sex on my 2yrs ago. However, I have decided to take a STD Test but still nervous about what the results will be. Only infection that I have actually had was a UTI [Urinary Tract Infection].. which however came from using a soap that I wasn't accustom too. My question is... since it's been 2yrs of not being sexually active [oral sex] and no-symptoms being shown. Is it possible that I could have a STD? Please somebody give help me on this one.

Chances are slim to none that you have an STD if you haven't had sex, intercourse or oral, for 2 years.

What makes you think you might have one?

Because, I read about certain STDs that can take up to years to detect and to be shown. However, HPV scares me the most because that's the new epidemic in this society.

I know of a couple who have been married over 25 years and have been monogamous the entire time. They were virgins the night they married. She had HPV. It's not always a STD.

It's best to see your OB/GYN yearly once you become sexually active.

It seems like a really unrealistic fear. But on the other hand one a person should be careful for.

So go to your doctor, have a complete set of tests done. And then just relax.

What set of tests should I have done? I can't have a pap smear because I'm still a virgin and that I don't want my seal broken.

Get a full set of tests for STD's, your doctor will know what tests. And most women have had they hymen already broken long before they are out of their teens by many other reasons

    Do you wear tampons?

No... I never used a tampon nor do I know how to use one yet. I don't even know what a orgasm or sex feels like except for feeling fingers inside me [no pain or blood], fingering the clitoris... but never a real live erect penis though.

Then you have little if anything to worry about. The only way to find out if you have HPV is through a PAP smear.

I heard of that in order to detect if a person has warts is when they see signs of them.

I'm not sure I understand this.

Now, why would you be concerned about genital warts if you have never had intercourse?

Because, oral sex was performed on me 2yrs again and information that I have read about HPV is that I could catch certain strains from receiving oral.

Only if the person you received oral from had an active form of the virus on his mouth.
