    Dormant Water Well
Because the sprinkler pump broke years ago. The well has been sitting dormant for a number of years.
I often wonder if it still has water. I cannot check it with a long stick, because the
Check valve only opens one way. I wonder how they test to see if the well has water?
I Had used it in the 1980's (1 1/2 HR Pump) hate to buy a pump and learn there is no water available.

If this were my call I'd remove the c heck valve and fittings leading to the well pipe. I would then take some stout twine, put a weight on it and drop it down the well pipe until it hits bottom. Pull it back up and see how wet the line is. Good luck, Tom
