Have 3 nobs water shower,diver does not divert water to shower

Here's a diagram of your shower valve. (see image) Shut the water off and open up the diverter. Check the washer and replace if worn or tore up. Now turn the water back on to flush out any trash left in the valve. Reassemble and test. Good luck, Tom
