I have a puppy, he is about 13 weeks old. He was doing very well going and sitting by the door when he needs to go outside. Lately he hasn't been doing that and he just disappears in the house and pees or poops. I don't understand why he isn't letting me know when he needs to go. It's frustrating because I have roommates and he was doing so well, and now he is acting up. Please help.

Something probably happened - door shut on his tail, another dog scared him, he got stung by a bee right while he peed, or you simply failed to let him out a few times in a row when he was by the door, who knows. At 13 weeks you shouldn't be counting on seeing him by the door, and he should be on a schedule. Dogs love routine and schedules and have great inner clocks. So take him out 4 times a day like clockwork for now.

Well every time another dog walks by he tries to run after them and barks. I will take him out when I go outside to have a cigarette, otherwise he sits by the door and barks and whines. Right now, he actually does go by my bedroom door and when I open it he goes to the back door, so we go outside and he just runs around and sits by my feet, walks around for crap to eat and chew on, but doesn't go. He starts to get into everything and get restless, so I bring him inside. I sit outside long enough for him to hang out and go.

OK, so you are taking him out a lot.
Part of training is association. He needs to know that he is expected to pee, so say 'go pee' several times, praise him a LOT when he goes, and rub his tummy and ears. Really overdo it for a while. Bring a certain toy or tiny treat only for going. He will quickly make all the connections.

Also, you have to really super clean the spots where he went in the house, because once he's gone inside, those spots are 'OK' in his mind. If it's rugs, put something smelly over it after cleaning, like geranium oil or bad cologne or anything.

Thanks. Yeah, I do tell him 'go pee' once we go outside and me and anyone that may be outside with me praises him. My friend mentioned that he may be mad at me for something. I have been home from work for an injury for the last 2 1/2 weeks, so it's not that I have been ignoring him. I just don't want it to continue, because like I said, I have roommates and I don't want to piss them off.

It's not un common for puppies to regress in training. You wll just need to go back to basics with the training. Every time he plays, eats or drinks you take him out side and wait for him to do hus business. You praise and offer a small reward. 13 weeks is still a young pup, it can takes dogs months to be houebroken, and sometimes it just takes a little time and encouragment for the pup to remember what he forgot he already knew. Consistency is the key here.

And I would skip the bad colonge or oils, use a good enzyme cleaner, vinegar or tree tea oil mixed with water will do the trick.

Also dogs don't know english, so saying the word "go pee" isn't helping him associate peeing with out side. Your reactions and pos reinforcement is what will be the association. Dogs understand actions, before words.
