Why does my moen single lever kitchen faucet have low water pressure?
My moen model 87420 single lever with sprayer has low water pressure... the sprayer has great water pressure... I took out the diverter and then everything reversed... great water pressure at the faucet but low pressure for the sprayer... bought a new diverter... put in in and now back to low pressure at the faucet and plenty of pressure at the sprayer... there are no leaks anywhere... could really use some advise... [email protected] thank you

Have you opened up the faucet and removed the cartridge.after first placeing a pan over the open valve and turned the water back on to flush the valve out? Check around the diverter for any trash.
Let me know if it helps, Good luck, Tom

No I didn't take the cartridge out.. I did check the diverter.. have even got a new diverter... talked to moen and they said they didn't think it was the cartridge so that's why I never took it out.. I think you may be right and I should pull the cartridge and clean it.. is all I do is wipe it off or does the cartridge come apart. Never did it before.. thanks speedball

I'm with Moen. I don't think it's the cartridge either.
One more time! Open up the faucet and removed the cartridge.after first placeing a pan over the open valve and turned the water back on to flush the valve out? Check around the diverter for any trash.
I think you may have dirt or some trash in your faucet and I want you to flush it out. After flushing the valve reassemble and test. Good luck, Tom

Take the faucet back and get a new one. I just put in a new moen single handle with sprayer and the sprayer has pressure for a split second and then trickles. No debris anywhere in the system. I've put in many and this is the first time I couldn't resolve the problem. I've found that a cheap menards 'tool shop' brand faucets work better and last longer than name brand stuff if you don't need the coolest looking faucet.
