My ex was dating a guy (original boyfriend) before me, that has a kid with another woman. He now can not have kids. She left him and was with 1 other guy before me and when I met her she was fighting with that guy and we thought she may have been pregnant. She was not. After she got pregnant by me she immediately broke up with me and first went back to the original boyfriend. Also during the entire time we were together she was constantly texting the original boyfriend. All of this is in the state of Indiana. I'm really not sure but I was told that this could be a form of entrapment on her part.

I'm sure she DID entrap you... That's what those women do... They wear those slinky things, and smell good. They feel pretty good too. But, you could have worn a raincoat. You didn't. So, you're stuck paying child support for the next 18 years. Hopefully, you'll be a good dad.

Entrapment ISN'T a defense to child support. It's a defense when the government entraps a person into committing a crime.

What's your question? Are you wondering if you aren't liable for child support because your ex is back with her old boyfriend? And by "ex" do you mean you were married?

It would help clarify if you could put some dates around all this so that it's clearer: when did she leave guy #1, when did she get pregnant by you, how long was she with you, and when did she leave you to go back to guy #1?

Has she filed for child support or what is your concern?
If she hasn't, and she can't find you to get DNA out of you, then she can't get support.

I'm not sure what the exact question is I'm just wanting to get the concept of the situation and if there is anything to stand on. I'm not worried about child support I will pay child support with pride. Really anything to help set a legal background to the situation is what I'm looking for. Its vague I know but that's all I got.

It's really simple.. You're the father. You're entitled to what ANY non custodial father is, which is reasonable visitation. Your obligations are the same too. It's best to get your situation memorialized through a court order, or she can do all sorts of ugly stuff to thwart your relationship with your child.

A lawyer would be a really big help to you now.

Assuming you are not intending to deny paternity, what you can expect is the family court to issue an order telling what your child support obligations are.

The other issue is custody of the child. Assuming you and your ex were not married - for unmarried parents the courts will usually award full custody to the mother unless the father can show she is not a good parent.

I think you did not get what you needed.

1.If you want to assert your rights,you MUST establish that you are the father.
2.If you DO NOT play as a father/ i.e. having interest,paying support and etc/ it may be accepted as relinquishment of rights, thus an adoption proceeding may be allowed.
