    Meed cold air now
We had a power outage in my area that lasted about 2-3 hours last night and now my central air unit will not come on. It was blowing fine before the outage. We have went outside and reset breakers and all that but the fan on the unit outside isn't coming on now.please help us.

Usually a low voltage component is fried during such outages when the juice is turned on again. It's probably the contactor or relay switch. An easy fix for any a/c tech. Call out one to test and properly fix. This is exactly why you need to always turn off the a/c or furnace when you have a power outage as the low voltage components will go first when the power is restored. This same scenerio happened to me one winter with my electric furnace and it was just a contactor switch that went.

You have reset breakers inside and out, right?

Do you know if the compressor is running?

If it is you should hear a hum.

If compressor is running, take a small stick or rod (a long screwdriver) stick between grid and give the fan blade a push clockwise.

    May work, may not.
