Bathtub water faucet making noise when the water is off

How about how old the faucet/valve is?

How many handles... single lever or two or three handles?

Is this a tub, shower, or tub and shower valve?

Tell us more about the noise? What kind of noise... tapping, knocking, whining, etc...

Is it a new noise thatr just developed or has this been going on a long time?

Have you checked to make sure that the sound isn't coming from the overflow at the tub/shower drain?
