Just moved into new house (new to me) and when I took a shower the water came out at a good pressure then it started to pulse. I'm on well. I had a well several years ago and I do not remember the pressure pulsing like this. Could a dirty filer cause this?

Sounds more like a water logged tank. Tell us about your well, pump and tank.

Jeff, your pressure tank probably has an air valve at the top, similar to the one on a tire. Press the valve a few seconds. If water comes out, then your tank is shot and needs to be replaced.

Here is the well set up. The tank is pretty new for the pic you can see it was mfg 2/25/11. Hopefully the pic's will be helpful. The pressure is currently at 32 and when you turn the water on it drops below twenty. It the clicks on and off going from aprox 32 and then down below 20 the entire time the water is running, creating the pulsing of the water.

Press the stem of the air valve. Do you get air or water?

What is the tank pressurized to? The tank (empty) should be pressurized to 2 lbs. below the pump cut on pressure. With your switch settings that should 18 lbs. That pressure is a little low for most people's preference. Most people prefer either a 30-50 cut on, cut off setting, others prefer a 40-60 setting.

I get air. How do I increase the pressure to the 30-50 range?

Turn off breaker.
Drain tank by opening drain valve and a cold water faucet somewhere.
Pressurize tank to 28 lbs.
Close drain valve and turn breaker on.
Remove switch cover.
After pump turns off turn nut on large spring a couple turns. Pump should come back on and pressure on tank pressure gauge should increase. Keep doing this until pressure gauge read 50 lbs.

Tightening large spring increases both the cut on and cut off pressures. Tightening the small spring increases the difference between the cut on and cut off pressures. Normally that is 20 lbs.
