I have had dogs all my life but this puppy is proving to test me to my limits! I know not to go to him when he is barking and his crate is full of fun things for puppy to do (kongs, hidden treats, toys) but he will bark all night none stop till his voice is horse. I have ignored him for a week now and its not stopping I tried to move his crate to a quiet part of the house (I have 3 kids who are up a lot at night)and it seem to have gotten worse. Where should I put him to try and ease this process for him ,myself and all who live within a quarter mile of me :)

If your kids are up a lot at night, is your puppy simply reacting to all the activity and noise? Is there a room off the beaten path where you can put him and maybe add a white noise maker with a loud-enough droning noise to drown out other sounds in the house?

I think he is so that's why I moved him but no luck. I don't like crating my dogs but he has taking a liking to my basment to use as his own personal doggie bathroom so he has to saty in there at night.

The crate is his den, his safe place. It isn't a punishment. Make sure he knows that.

I keep the crate open throughout the day and also put his food and water in there. Its not a punishment but he has to stay there throughout the night. I do not see him go in there except to eat or get out whatever toys or treats I put in there. I guess my main question is should I leave his crate in a quiet place( in our computer room) or should I put it in my bedroom? So not as much traffic as living room but still with people he can see? Because he reacts so much when he sees us.
