    Macs Resistant to Viruses?
    I´ve heard that mac computers are more resistant to viruses. Is that true and if it is why is that so?

    It used to be the case, but there is more Mac malware doing the rounds, so no longer are you "safe" with a Mac..

    No its not true. The reason why MACs have been relatively free of virus attacks is because they have had around a 10% marketshare. People who write viruses are going to attack the 90% market leader (Windows) and not waste time on the small 10%. But Apple is becoming a victim of their own success. As market share has increased (still under 20%), virus writers have been making them more of a target.

    Well I would say that the only reason they say MAC is resistant to viruses is because it is based on a system for

    Firstly less hackers develop program to access it

    Secondly a virus cannot hide itself... u will be able to see the virsus folders unlike windows which is hidden... and since you can see the folder you have an ability to delete the folder or virus as I may say

    But yeah technology is at itz best so nothing is secure : Prevention is better than cure...
