    What are you resisting arrest for? Makes a difference... for example.. resisting arrest after going through a red light or resisting arrrest after unlawful discharge of a firearm.

    It will depend on the state, and in some states the amount of resistance.

    In general it is not a felony if there is no force used, like people who merely lay on the ground and will not obey orders of police,

    Those that throw their arms around, fight back, then that can become a felony.

    The actual laws are each written by the state, so the laws will vary from every state

    Resisting arrest in my state, Ga, is called Obstruction and is a misdemeanor, but if the resisting injures the officer then it is Felony Obstruction.
