If I would get a tattoo were would it hurt the most? Or more importantly, the least!

There are different schools of thought on this.

I have one on my ankle, which I was told would be very painful. It wasn't.

A friend of mine got one on his shoulder, which is supposed to be one of the least painful spots. He said it hurt a lot worse then the one on his leg.

It depends a lot on you, and the tattoo artist.

Most people say that it's not so much painful as it is annoying. It feels like getting stung by many mosquitoes at once.

If it's very painful it's usually because the needle is going in too deep.

    Hello queenie:

Where the skin is closest to the bone. Your head, your fingers, your elbow, your ankle..

    But, our alty is tough.

    It really isn't.

I had my ankle done 10 years ago, and it didn't hurt at all. It was annoying, but not painful.

But then again, it depends on your threshold for pain.

I had two kids naturally, no drugs at all, so maybe I am tough. ;)

    Comment on Altenweg's post
I can barely handle a bee sting, haha.

For me it was the one on my right side. It runs right over the nerve that goes toward the belly button. Felt like someone was pulling my intestines through said belly button. The only other one that hurt a little was the one on my right arm which only hurt on the part that goes over the top of the shoulder.

For me the top most painful were the inside of my upper inside arm, my nipples, under my breast so the ribs and the top of my spine. Like altenweg said - it's more of an "annoyance", mainly the vibrations. Generally the most painful are where bones are close to the surface e.g.. Elbow, head, top of feet and hands and the spine.
