06 honda rancher es manuel shift won't start
My honda will roll... roll... roll.. and roll butr will never ignite . And I noticed that the air filter is gummy and smells like old gas . I would like info on what to do to troubleshoot this, or need any familiar atv rider to help me with my problem . The only thing I expect that happened.. it has been sitting since last August with the fuel intake on... would this be a problem ?

    PLEASE HELP
    Thanks tyler

It's possible that the gas is bad. Try draining it and putting new gas in it.

    . Change the air filter.

. Check for spark--clean and gap the plug, if necessary.

. Use starting fluid to get it running.

Buddyredmond, if you are going to try to drain the fuel, it is best if you can get it out of the carb as well. If you can find the drain on the carb then open it and let it drain. If not, it may require extra cranking to get the new fuel in to the point where it will start. Also, I think the idea of cleaning the spark plug is good too as I am sure it is fouled out by now. I used to have a motorcycle and if you left gas in it over the winter, it would give me problems starting and run rough until it got new gas.
