We have a debate in the office... which is the correct way to file index a client's name when she has two last names?
NAME: Susan M. Carter Howe
Option 1 - Carter Howe, Susan M.
Option 2 - Howe, Susan m. Carter
Option 1 would be correct as this is her complete last name, now Howe.
Whatever the customer specifies. If you have a form to fill out, file in the order shown in the last name box. You need a format that will make it clear. But for now, start the last name with the first of the two. Option 1.
