What is the control lock on a Kenmore model 665 Ultra builti-in dishwasher?

I would think that the Control Lock feature can be used to avoid unintended use (i.e. child use) of the dishwasher.

When the lock symbol is lit, the buttons are disabled.

If Control Lock is engaged and now you can't get the dishwasher to work, try pressing the Air Dry or Heated Dry button (depending on model) for 4 seconds, until the Lock On light goes out.
