how do I find out what is wrong with my dog?
My seven year old male lab is very uncomfortable. He received a bath yesturday with the standard canine shampoo we always use and was well rinsed and dried off. Late last nigh he tucked his tail and finds it extremely hard to sit down. He did not even go to his regular place to sleep but instead remained were he was seemly scared to move. He ate his morning milk bone but only in this laying down position. His gums are pink and healthy, his eyes are clear yet with the expression of: 'what's wrong'? Our weather has been unusually HOT he does have short quick breathing a pants easily (our other lab is not experiencing any of these symptoms) Should I take him to the vet or wait this out a day or two?

If I were you, I would take him to the vet; don't try to wait it out. If he is not acting normally, and you are unable to get him to move, then I wouldn't wait.

Pain near his rear, I imagine, just from what you say. Is he constipated? Have you examined under his tail?

Twisted bowel comes to mind, and is sudden and serious.
