    Wet or Damp
I would like to know the difference between an outdoor ceiling fan listed as damp compared to wet.. I have an open outsid porch/deck with roof just ahe fron and sides are open not screen or glass. The top is covered and one side is butted up to back of house, leaving front ans sides open, spindles are on front and sides as are the steps . Can I use your indorr/oputdoor damp rating fan on this typr or porch or do I have to use one wet rated? Please help no one at Lowe's or home depot know and neither do my friends Thanks Frank

Damp Location: Partially protected locations under canopies, marquees, roofed open porches and like locations, and interior locations subject to moderate degrees of moisture, such as some basements, some barns, and cold-storage warehouse.

Wet Location: Installations underground or in concrete slabs or masonry in direct contact with the earth, and locations subject to saturation with water or other liquids, such as vehicle washing areas and locations exposed to weather and unprotected.

Wet location is in direct contact with rain or water.
Damp location is under a roof or overhang NOT in direct contact with rain or water.
