Retired the bonds on December 31,2010, by paying 48,000 plus 3,000 interest. The amount they have on balance sheet is 50,000 for bonds payable.

Does your question indicate any other info - when bonds were issued, what they were issued for, etc? Are there any other related accounts, such as discounts or premiums?
