AHU works but system not cooling, traced issue down to fan not spinning in heatpump (obviously not cooling), top of unit _VERY_ warm/hot. Stopped unit via thermostat for 30 minutes. Reset breaker to be sure,turned on at thermostat... fan started. Checking... vents now putting out cool air.

Waited 10 min... stick thermometer downstream of AHU, not getting cooler than 80F. Chk outside unit... fan is stopped, unit getting warm, unit making "rrr-rrr-rrr" noise.

Is it fan/capacitor/compressor? When unit is making noise and fan is stopped spinning, you can reach through and easily spin fan blades using a small stick.

I don't have an answer to your question but I am having the same problem and wondered if you got yours fixed. I would appreciate the help. Thanks

No answer from anyone, but did fix it with some remote guidance from a jack-of-all-trades buddy of mine. Replaced the capacitor, which had bulged out the top.
