Is my belly piercing infected? If so, what do I do?
The skin around the belly ring is kind of red and it hurts a little bit, but Is mostly when I bend down. I got it pierced on July 20,2011. I did play with it a little the first day. I clean it several times a day with bactine and warm salt water. What else can I do.? Please help.

It will be red for a bit, it takes 6 months to a year to fully heal because it is a deep tissue piercing. Clean it and care for it the way your piercer told you to. It also will secrete a discharge yellow, green, or white. The darker it is, the more you should worry. Make sure to wear loose fitting clothes and keep pants off and away from the piercing site.

Id say I agree with the person befroe me for the most part. But I would say that I have had my ears soothed by sea salt an very warm water. But I do put good faith in good old soap an water in the shower be gentle but firm. The deeper the redness like the person before me said is a sign that it is infected. It will hurt for a while after done. You have something in your body your body is not used to an your mody probably is rejecting it at first your body will need time to get used to it. I hope the best for you an yours.

I recommend spinning it whenever it feels weird. Its going to hurt for a couple of weeks or months. I would wear loose fitting shirts until it feels better keep cleaning it a lot a day with warm salt water solution. And no, it isn't infected. But if white stuff is coming out of it you have a puss patch. You don't want to try to pop it or play with it or anything. Just keep cleaning it 3 times a day until it goes away. And if it is still there for more then a year you need to go to a doctor and have it looked at because it is really infected. Your belly button isn't even supposed to be peirced in the first place. The only place where anything is suppost to be peirced is your ears. But I recommend what I just said. Hope my advice is a great help to you!

There is no right or wrong place to be pierced, it is all opinion.

White discharge is normal. As I have already stated. It is NOT pus. It is the body cleaning the wound and making a sort of tent to keep out bacteria.

Do not spin it, but move it up and down to keep the skin from attaching to it.
