Can I get a transfer on probation to TX for a job?
I am on federal probation for a misdemeanor. I have applied for and have been offered a job at a fire dept in Texas. I worked for armed security for military here in Nevada. Never been in trouble before or after this. I asked my PO about transfer over a month ago. And nothing was done. I'm a week from needing to move. Already packed up. But nothing has been done. I have my lawyer involved now as well to speed process up. I've done research on transfer and realize it takes time. Is there a temporary "permit" to move as my probation ends in two months anyway. Very important job for me and I'm not getting the help I need. They say they're here to help? Any ideas what I can do to fast track this?

    Thanks.

    Hello j:

You can get a travel permit or a series of travel permits until the transfer is done. All it takes is some cooperation from the probation department... I KNOW.. They're NOT cooperating, and don't look like they're going to... That's where your lawyer comes in. He persuades them, or sues them, or does what lawyers do to earn their keep.

Exactly what I Was thinking an have read. But now my lawyer bugging her an probably pissed her off so she's not responding to my emails now either. Would it help it if I called Texas office myself, am I allowed to. I don't want to have to go over her head

    Hello again, j:

You are allowed to anything within the law to help yourself. SCREW her. She's not helping.. Yes, she doesn't like you OR the lawyer... So, have your lawyer SUE her. You rights ARE being violated... SHE doesn't have the RIGHT to keep you from a transfer as long as you meet the criteria for transfer and you do... Therefore, SUE THE BASTARDS. No, that won't make them like you... Uhhhh, they ALREADY don't like you.

Even at best it is not going to happen in a week, you have to apply where you are at, they get the other location to approve, so you are several weeks away at best, it can even take a couple months sometimes,

But leave it to your attorney
