Hello. With in the last two days, we have had water pressure problems in the kitchen sink, bathroom sink and shower head only. When removing the heads, we've noticed sediment coming out, blocking the flow. We've cleaned it, only to have it happen within hours. The tub, toilets and everyhing without a filter, has regular pressure. I was wondering what is causing this to occur and what to do to fix it?

It may be a surge of sediment coming from City water supply. I would remove shower head and have water run for 10-15 minutes. That should clean your pipes within your house. Also, it could be tank in your hot water heater. If so, you have to flush the heater.

If the dirt comes from the street than it could be long term problem. In this case, install house filter on your water main. That will filter out all incoming dirt. However, here you will have to change filters periodically.

Follow Milo and also remove the faucet aerators, clean them well with water and usually a toothpick. If there is that much dirt, you may also have some in the toilet ballcock. I'd also let thing sit a couple of days and flush the HW heater.

We have removed the faucet aerators and cleaned them... and the faucets work OK for only a small amount of time.. As far as the HW heater? I wasn't sure about this since the sediment is in the cold water too?

Tincat. The cold water line supplies the HW heater so it's the same water. Keep the faucet aerators off for a while and see if the sediment clears up. There isn'tmuch you can do on the house supply except a possible whole house filter but from what you describe, it would clog up pretty fast.
