Moss growth on cinder block foundation?
The foundation on the front (north) of my house( built in 1940) has moss or mold growing on and in it. I have washed and pressure-washed the blocks and noticed that the block is disintergrating. Can this be repaired? And how.
    Thanking you in advance.

STOP using a pressure washer. Using strong chemicals and/or a high pressure washer will destroy the block. Hollow block is only compressed in a mold and are not solid. Scrub the block with TSP and a stiff brush, hose wash and dry. Then get Quickcrete vinyl patcher and smooth a coat over the block. If the joints are bad you may also need to tuck point the joints. After everything is dry and sets for a couple of weeks, paint the block with a masonry paint. You can keep moss and mildew down with commercial products sold at HD or Lowe's, ACE and others.

Do you know for sure you have cinder block or is it actually concrete block?

Since the house was built in 1940, I'm assuming it is cinder block.
