Why is there standing sewer water in clean out?
There is standing sewer water half way up to the ground level through the clean out in my back yard. After renting a 100 ft sewer snake and running it throughout the mainline through the house, the standing water did not drain. I ran the snake through the pipes from the roof. I went back to the clean out and ran the snake (as far as it could go)the opposite way away from the property toward the city then again back toward and throughout the house... nothing. What going on? Any help is much appreciated. I can also be reached at [email protected].

Many clogs are right at the city riser which is where you pipe meets the city main. How far from the far side of your house to the street curb? You need that much snake at least.

500' is a hike but ou may mneed to rod the entire length all from one end. I'd be surprised to see a run this long with no clean out along the way. Check with the city to see if their copy of the plans shows a clean out.
