My Dog is a small poodle who loves being outside running around, she has been acting weird. She doesn't want to come out from under the bed all she wants to do is sleep. Its been two day and she hasn't ate but does drink water. What should I Do? Is SHe Deprest?

Yes I would take her to the vet.
Any sudden change in behavior should be seen to, I could only guess as to what the problem might be, there are many things that will cause a dog not to eat and to hide, it could be depression as you say or it could be pain/discomfort.

I agree. This dog definitely should be taken to the vet. If she were your child would you let her go two days without eating without seeing a Doctor? Dogs usually show us by behaviours that there is something wrong. There are so many things that could be wrong with her that it would be best for a vet to examine her. Please keep us updated.

Yes you should take her in. That is a pretty dramatic change in behavior.

I called the a vet. They said they couldn't see her until tomorrow, She eats a little know but still is'nt active like she was. She still sleeps a lot and doesn't really answer when you call her. Its like she turned scared of everyone around her but I think she is just in pain and does not want to be touched. She struggles going up the stairs now. The Other day she got out of the fence,there are a lot of dogs in my neighborhood. Could it be one of them hurt her?

If she is in pain what should I do?

There is a lot more formation you could have provided that would help with answering your question better, but we do with what we have. Your vet will have better luck, I suspect.

First, struggling to get up stairs suggests either pain or weakness, because of the movement required to climb steps. Often, a dog will be able to get out of a fenced area if it will 'work at it' more enthusiastically. In the process, I have seen animals strain muscles or joints to the extent of causing a limited ability to function, after the 'injury' has a chance to age a bit.

Typical response to that sort of pain is inactivity... a sort of 'retiring' from family life for a while, "till I feel better". Of all the semi crippling pains that can be imagined, back pain is the one that seems to stop most activity. Any leg pain can be ignored by simply not using that leg, but the back is necessarily involved in any sort of movement.

And it is possible that any neighborhood dog could have hurt her, either by fighting, or by just chasing her till she was nearly exhausted, and sore from the 'exercise' as well as possibly frightened by it. You didn't hint at why she was so eager to have have gotten out of the fenced area... has she been spayed, and if not... could she be in the early stages of her season?

But, your specific question was what you should do for now. I would suggest letting her do as she pleases, giving her the freedom to eat, drink, and go outdoors, as she may want. No 'medicine' for pain without an examination. If, however, you wanted to occasionally 'encourage' her to move about by rewarding her with a tasty tid-bit or two, that may be enough activity to lessen her stiffness when it comes time to go the vet's.

I agree with the above. Any drastic change in behavior, or loss of appetite for more then a day, needs to be seen to by a vet.

How old is your dog?

2 years old was born last year in march.

Then this obviously isn't an age issue.

It's definitely time to see your vet.
