Guardianship of 17 year old who ran away
My daughter lived with me in TX and ran away to live in Oklahoma with my Ex husband and his parents. She then moved out of their home to a ex family members home in Oklahoma. That family is now trying to get guardianship of my child who I consider a runaway?

I am going to court and saying no to this. Will the judge grant guardianship to them without my consent?

A LOT depends on the circumstances - why she left, the situation in your home, why she ran away.

At 17 she is "almost" an adult so the Court very well might respect her wishes.

When did she run away and what did you do legally to try to get her to return to your home?

And how long you have "allowed" her to live with her dad?

Was it a couple weeks, or a few months ?

Since if she is a run away, was she reported as a run away to the police. If so, they could just require her to come home
