How do I change the spark plugs on a troy bilt bronco riding mower ?

Hi,
If it is a recent OHV engine, then a 5/8" socket, possibly an extension and a 3/8" ratchet. Generally a Champion RC12YC gapped at 0.030" and a twin takes two.

Why is so difficult to find anyone who knows where the spark plug is on a Troy Bilt Bronco. I have been to three Lowe's (where I purchases the mower) and no one there has a clue. The poor soul who wrote the Kohler manuel must not have know for he does not mention it. He does say to change the spark plug annually but fails to tell us where it is.
I have not found an answer on Troy Bilt web pages. Must I dismantle part of the engine coverings to find it. This is a poor design in my estimation.
I read that some one had a bad solenoid on his starter. Mine, also. Perhaps the Communist Chinese are unable to produce a working model.
Please: Where to I find the spark plug?

Hi,
Well yoy tell no model numbers, machine or engine, so the best thing I can tell you is to locate the heavy black wire coming from somewhere on the front of the engine (the one that is 1/4" in diameter ora bit better and follow it to the spark plug boot, twist the boot back and forth to loosen it, pull it free and beneath it is the plug.) Still should be a 5/8" spark plug socket needed.

I agree with Mr. Shreve. This Bronco has been nothing but a colossal pain since my wife bought it for me 18 months ago. The pulley system flew apart 3 weeks after we got it, the battery died after 1 year, now it won't start so I can warm up the oil to change it. If I could find the plug, I change it too. If I had $1200 to throw away (again) I'd find a new mower. I could find it a lot faster than a spark plug on this POS.
