I need help in writing a written defense letter to respond to a summons I received from Discover Bank. Even though I am a client of Legal Helpers Debt Resolution,LLC, they have informed me that I am the one that has to respond to the summons. They will review my letter and advise me of any changes. My letter needs to contain the following: Disbute the Debt-explain what hardship is,advise them that I'm in this program to help debt resolution,and ask for more time so case can be delayed till Nov. and my account will have accumulated more funds to help settle this matter,and ask the court to dismiss the complaint, reasonable cost, and judgement in my favor.
Any advise,suggestions,etc will be greatly appreciated!

My advice would be to tell legal helpers to give you the thousands in fees they have charged, back to you, so that you will have enough money in the account. Then tell them to call the attorney and settle the debt before you are in default. (which is what you have paid them thousands in fees to do)

Basically, they have put you in a no win situation and now are expecting you to show up in court and ask for an extension. I would demand a full refund, and then contact the attorney for discover and try and work out a settlement directly.

I am sorry my news isn't better, but the way Legal Helpers operates is to focus on collecting money from their clients rather than actually using the money to negotiate their debts. The results, predictably are that their clients get sued.
