I had this lump under my tongue for about 3 weeks. It was soft to the touch and had spots purple in color. Well today it popped in my mouth and puss came out so it's gone now. I always keep good dental hygiene so I don't understand what it could be. Should I be concerned?

Your dental hygiene can't be all that good if you had a lump under your tongue that was infected. You had it for three weeks and you didn't wonder why your tongue was sore? I find that hard to believe; because basically you were ignoring the warning signs of a mouth infection. Are you a smoker? My dental hygiene, when I go every six months, includes an extensive mouth check (I am not a smoker) but I don't mind the extra care.

Yes, you should be concerned because any infection in you rmouth can go to other parts of your body; has been known to go to the heart in extreme long time instances.

So, don't come on here and say you didn't know what was going on and your dental hygiene is okay.

No it isn't okay because 'it popped and puss came out'. You still have to know the root of the problem before you say you are okay with it.
