    Hi Jerry,

A litle more info. Would certainly help here... ;)

Not only does every home have to have 1 single vent stack, at a minimum, penetrate the roof, but as Parttime said, all fixtures also require individual (or wet vents) for every fixture in the home.

    Please clarify your question,OK?

In addition to Marks answer if you're asking if the outside sewer line needs to be vented the answer is no. However EVERY fixture that has as trap MUST either be vented by a,dedicated, revent or wet vent. Does this answer your question? Tom

... so in other words: main sewer line is "vented" by utilizing plumbing fixtures vents in the house...
