    Panasonic TV trouble
I have a Panasonic PT-53WX53G that won't turn on. It just stopped working one day. The red LED light blinks 5 times, waits 5 seconds, and then blinks again. There's no other sounds or indications of a problem. Help greatly appreciated.

A 5-blink error code on that model indicates an issue with your main signal processor (IC4511). This is located on the A-board, or commonly called the main board. Assuming you can find the A-Board (model TNP2AH045), you will be looking at about $200 USD.

If you are not comfortable fixing it yourself, you'll be looking at least another $150 in labor.

My recommendation with such an old set, is to get a new TV, if you have the money to spend. If not, obviously either waiting, or fixing it is the alternative.

I greatly appreciate the assistance. Installation shouldn't be an issue as I do electronic repairs for a living. Finding the part has been an entirely different issue unfortunately. I think I'll spend a few more days searching and weighing my options. As long as I have a good looking, fully functional set before pre-season starts I'll be happy.
