    How do I have the restraining order against my ex canceled
    I took out a restraining order against my ex but now want it lifted because we are getting back together ?

    You file something in court to the effect that you would like the order cancelled.

    Restraining orders are usually put in place for a very good reason; I urge the OP to think about this before lifting the restraining order. Everything may seem compatible now, but how do you know for sure that there will not be a re-occurrence of previous trouble. I hope the restraining order was not put in place because of violence towards you.

    In NY you cannot - and if you violate it on YOUR terms YOU can be arrested.

    The Police are simply tired of restraining orders to teach people a lesson, then the person who got the order wants it dropped.
