Issues with No Signal for dvd player but CAN hear the menu screen through the TV!
So I bought an Insignia 32" LCD HDTV. As far as the set up goes for me. I have all the component cords in the corresponding parts (i.e. there is a little cute picture for me to not dummy this up) All i can see on the component screen is a highlighted bouncing "No Signal" sign. I can hear the music of the dvd screen fine. Does anyone have any ideas why I can't see the dvd menu or in simpler terms the picture!! TV works fine... my dad lives with me so he will look at it but I was basically looking for someone to tell me what they did to fix that. I think I need to rewire using a home theater cord; a specific one that is needed for that but our family has never needed it before so I don't necessarily want to spend the extra money for a cord that may not solve the issues at hand.

Composite is pretty simple, red and white for sound and yellow for video.
Component is a Better Picture and uses Red, blue, and green for video, and red and white for audio.
You may be plugged into a different input than what you think.
With the DVD hooked up and ON. Then go through all the inputs on TV menue Video1, video 2, composite, etc.

Yep. On that unit, if you are using the component connection (as mentioned, the red, blue, and green), the audio connections are located in a different position and upon looking at it, you would think they belong to a different connection.

As Strat mentioned, cycle through the other inputs to see if you find the picture, then you can move the audio connections until you hear the audio with the video. :)

@Strat: Especially on the store brand TVs. Haha.
