Any ideas, it happened after about a half mile of driving under light load.
Assuming everything is okay with the timing belt and the CEL comes on for 2 seconds and then goes out, when the ignition switch is turned to ON (Position II), then I would focus on the distributor. Typically, replacing the Ignition Control Module and coil solves the problem.
Thank you, I am diagnosing the distributor as we speak. Someone may have locktighted the cap bolt, because I broke all three and had to drill them out. I will verify ignition function, if that is fruitless, I will remove the timing covers and recheck my timing. Thanks for your time.
