CPVC is chlorinated polyvinyl chloride and will withstand heat up to 180° and uses a special glue to bond it together as regular PVC glue will not work at all. PVC comes in different schedules or wall thicknesses, but schedule 40 is the most common used size for homes. Regular PVC will only withstand 140° water and is unsuitable for hot water. PPR pipe is a new type of plastic pipe that uses no glue-it it heat-fused by a process that melts it together. PPR is strictly a commercial product and too expensive to use in most homes. Check local building codes to see what is required before installing plastic pipe. DrTom4444
