What is the recommended intake of iron for a new born infant
NONE - unless your pediatrician tells you to for an unusual situation. Breast milk and or formula only. There are many formulas out there, each for a different need, each with well established list of ingredients. Don't give a newborn supplements.
Agree 100% with joy. If you give an infant/baby/child extra iron and the child does not have an iron deficiancy, you can make them very sick. Always talk to your doctor when you are concerned about your infants nutrition.
