The other day I was drinving my car. Every time I went to stop or turn, the car started to shake really bad. I took the car to Precision Tune Auto Car where the mechanic ran a diagnostic to read the car's computer. The computer detected that the knock sensor was bad. The mechanic gave me a quote saying that the part was about $130 and the labor was $444. Is that not CRAZY?? How accurate is this? I know that the knock sensor is behind the motor, but how much time should it take to fix it? The mechanice said it would take about 5 1/2 hours. What do you think?
I was also wondering... does the knock sensor have anything to do with my car not wanting to change gears? I drove 15 miles the other day at a constant speed of about 55 mph and my car was at 5 rpm's the whole way.
