I have an electric motor that spins 1725 rpm and need to slow it down to around 14 rpm, I'm willing to use pulleys but don't know what sizes to get. I am trying to spin a 55 gal plastic barrell at this rate to tumble waterfowl for taxidermy purposes, any help is very appreciated

In general you don't want to slow down a motor because they are designed to run at a specific speed. What your looking to do is create a ratio between the motor and the drum.

Example: A 50:1 ratio would mean the one side spins 50 times to the other side making one revolution.

In your case you might want to consider a slower motor as it would be much easier to work with.

14 rpm is pretty slow.

What you might think about also is using or modifying a cement mixer for your needs.
